Albert, MD, MPH, FACC, FAHA<\/p>\n<p>Professor in Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF)<\/p>\n<p><em>Dr. Michelle A. Albert is president of the American Heart Association (AHA) for 2022-23 and Professor in Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). Her clinical expertise involves both taking care of the most critically ill heart disease patients and preventive cardiology at UCSF. As a physician-scientist-epidemiologist, Dr. Albert is engaged in research that seeks to transform CVD science and healthcare of global populations. He completed a 5-year post-doctoral research fellowship at the Technion and his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at Rambam Medical Center both with excellence. Afterwards, he moved to the US and did a fellowship in advanced heart failure for 2 years at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, and another year of fellowship in interventional cardiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Currently, professor Asleh is working as the director of the Heart Failure Unit as well as the director of the Cardiovascular Research Center at Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem. He is the secretary of the IHS heart failure working group. He is an associate professor of Medicine\/Cardiology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Between 2012 and 2015 she moved to London for a fellowship in cardiomyopathies and cardiac MRI imaging at the former The Heart Hospital of the University College of London. She has then completed the\u00a0 MSc in Sports Cardiology at the St. Georges University of London, where she has been recently appointed Honorary Senior Lecture.\u00a0Her interests include sports cardiology, inherited cardiac diseases, cardiac magnetic resonance, prevention of sudden cardiac death in the young. She is an ESC Fellow and a Silver Member of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC), of which SportsCardiology and Exercise section she is also chair-elected and currently nucleus member. Also, she is ESC Communication Committee member; Deputy Editor and Social Media Editor of the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology; Associate Editor of the EHJ-Case Reports and of OpenHeart; nucleus member of the ESC Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases WGs.\u00a0At a National Level, she is nucleus member of the Italian Society of Sports Cardiology and nucleus member of the working group of Inherited Cardiac Disorder, being a former nucleus member of the working group of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of the Italian Society of Cardiology. Deputy Head of Division of Cardiology at Medical University of Innsbruck (1997 \u2013 2007), Secretary (2006-2012) and President (2013-2015) of the Austrian Society of Cardiology. Member of EAPCI since 2006 (Co-chair and chair, Database &amp; Registry Committee, 2011-2016), EuroPCR Programme committee member, 2006-2009. Member of EORP Oversight committee 2016-2018. He trained in medicine and cardiology at the Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem. Between 1992-1994 he took a research fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Upon his return to Israel he worked as an attending physician in the coronary care unit at Hadassah Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>In 2001 Prof. Zahger became co-director of the coronary and intermediate care units at Soroka University Medical Center in Beer Sheva and in 2015 became Director of Cardiology at this institution.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Zahger has served as Secretary General and as President of the Israel Heart Society. He has been involved for many years with the ESC Acute Cardiac Care Working Group, later ACVC, as vice chair, board member and congress committee co \u2013 chair. For 20 years he has co \u2013 chaired the bi annual Tel Aviv meeting on Acute Cardiac Care.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Zahger is Professor of Cardiology at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben Gurion University of the Negev. He has co \u2013 authored over 130 papers and has served as a member in guideline committees of the ESC.<\/p>\n                    <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n
